Art & Activism at Millpond.Live
The Rosenberg Fund for Children is the presenting sponsor for "Art & Activism," the Millpond.Live festival's August 26th installment at 6:00 pm in Easthampton's Millside Park.
Sweet Honey in the Rock will headline this free, all ages event. Rooted in African American history and culture, this legendary, all-female vocal ensemble has centered their music in the struggle for social justice throughout its four-decade history.
The evening will be a multimedia journey that incorporates music, spoken word, video and visual art in a conversation about pressing social issues. The inter-generational lineup features artists who have dedicated their careers to creating change and speaking out against injustice. Sweet Honey In The Rock will be joined by Climbing Poetree, The Love Experiment and Sophia Dawson.
This all-ages event will be the second installment of Millpond.Live's 2017 season, an eclectic, free festival spanning six Saturdays (August 19th - September 23rd), that the RFC is proud to sponsor.
The series brings people together from all walks of life to experience exceptional, thought-provoking art and music in a beautiful and accessible physical setting. Attendees should bring blankets & chairs, and are welcome to carry in their own refreshments or purchase from food trucks and local microbreweries.
