About Guy Davis
Musician, author, actor, and second-generation activist Guy Davis counts Pete Seeger as an important mentor. Blind Willie McTell and Big Bill Broonzy influenced Guy's musical storytelling, and artists as diverse as Lightnin’ Hopkins and Babatunde Olatunji inform his musicality. However, there’s one man that Guy most credits for his harmonica techniques, by stealing and crediting from him everything that he could, and that man is the legendary Sonny Terry. Guy’s Grammy-nominated newest album, Sonny & Brownie’s Last Train – A Look Back at Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, is an homage to these two hugely influential artists.
About the Rosenberg Fund for Children
The RFC is a non-profit, public foundation which honors the resistance of Ethel & Julius Rosenberg. The RFC aids kids in the U.S. whose activist parents have been attacked because they're working to combat racism and police brutality, safeguard the environment, preserve civil liberties, wage peace, and organize on behalf of immigrants, workers, prisoners, queer & trans folks, and others whose lives are under threat.
The Rosenbergs' son Robert Meeropol started the RFC in 1990 and Robert's daughter Jenn Meeropol leads the Fund today. In its 28-year history, the RFC has awarded more than $6.5 million to help thousands of "children of resistance."
