At the RFC’s offices we escaped the worst of Sandy’s wrath. We were well to the north of the storm’s center and far enough inland to avoid serious flooding and massive power outages. After one, hurricane-shortened workday, we were back to normal at the RFC.
Unfortunately, thousands of our supporters, along with many beneficiaries and providers, were not so lucky. In view of these special circumstances and in solidarity with all those who are suffering through what is a very difficult and even life-threatening time, I will skip my normal blog posting this week. Instead, I and the rest of the RFC’s staff and Board, extend best wishes and hopes to all those affected by this unprecedented event in our region, that you stay safe and recover rapidly from any negative consequences you have suffered in this storm.
We also want to direct you to www.rfc.org/storm, where we are set up to act as a resource clearinghouse for connecting those RFC supporters in the area who have been affected and need help, with those who are able to offer it. Please take a look if you want to get involved.
