He was harassed and detained by the FBI and local law enforcement, and left the U.S. to end his family’s and his own persecution. NY
Moish and Lillian Antopol Memorial Fund* Parents Arrested for Protesting War $2898 for music lessons for the two children, ages 10 and 13, whose parents are long-time peace and anti war-tax activists. The father has been arrested numerous times as a result of his activism and refuses to pay the fines, which the government is now garnishing, causing financial hardship. Music is a comfort and an anchor for both children, who regularly endure stress and anxiety. NC
Father Tortured for Denouncing Abuse $2438 for sports activities, tuition and a Carry it Forward (CIF) award[1] for the daughters, ages 13 and 19, of a journalist from central Africa. After hosting a political debate denouncing the killing and abuse of civilians in his country, he was imprisoned and tortured. He was released after his wife bribed the guards, then fled to the U.S. and is raising his daughters as a single dad. IL
Antopol Fund Teen Bullied for Taking A Knee $2000 for sports activities for the 16-year-old varsity athlete who has been kneeling in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick to bring awareness to racial injustice. She was tormented and ostracized by her teammates, and eventually forced to change schools to escape the toxic environment. IL
Mom Fired for Fighting for Workers’ Rights $2000 for educational support for the nine-year-old daughter whose mom, an organizer for fair working practices, was bullied on the job, had her hours cut, and then was fired. The daughter has witnessed her mom's harassment and suffered socially and emotionally as a result of the financial strain. MS
Antopol Fund Mom Blacklisted for Anti-Racist Organizing $1776 for critical dental care for the 15-year-old daughter of a medical professional who organized and spoke publicly about racism in the workplace. She faced harassment and termination without any official misconduct and is now blacklisted despite 25 years of experience. OK
Antopol Fund Young Black Lives Matter Activist Denied Scholarship $1600 CIF and Targeted Activist Youth (TAY) Development grant[2] for the 21-year-old who is a vocal and visible racial justice organizer. He has spoken at rallies and been interviewed by the media. As a result, police targeted him at demonstrations and in his home neighborhood. DC
Antopol Fund FBI Harasses Family $600 CIF award for the 18-year-old daughter of human rights advocates whose work spans 30 years. The FBI intimidated the family by ransacking their house, confiscating belongings and threatening the family with information about the children’s whereabouts and activities. MO

Moms Lose Positions Over Activism $11,500 for sports programs and educational support for nine children, ages five to 16, from three families, whose mothers’ support of Muslim and student rights cost them their jobs. CO, GA
Dad Loses Job for Reporting the Truth $1800 for sports activities and a computer for the 18-year-old son whose father, an independent journalist, was fired and blacklisted for expressing progressive views and covering controversial topics. MN
Antopol Fund Mother Blacklisted $1000 for tutoring for the 13-year-old son whose mother was prevented from finding a job in her field after she pushed her employer to stand by their professed values of equality and inclusion. MI

Parents Protest Environmental Racism $20,450 for a wide range of programs and a CIF award for 14 children, ages two to 20, from six families. Parents were attacked, harassed and/or imprisoned for their community organizing work to stop toxic waste dumps from being put in predominantly black communities. CA, FL, NY, PA, AL
Parents Fight for Racial Justice $13,800 for educational and cultural programs for 12 children, ages six to 17, from three families. Several parents were beaten and arrested while marching against environmental racism; others were harassed for racial justice and labor rights work. GA, NY
Grandmother Stripped of Nation Standing $5951 for educational support, music lessons, sports activities and orthodontia for five children, ages nine to 17, whose grandmother (with whom they live) organized for reform of their tribal leadership. She was forced from her job and had her Nation services and benefits revoked. IN
Families Targeted for Decades $5000 for cultural activities for four children, ages six to 12, from two families whose fathers have faced targeting and repression for most of their lives as a result of their and their families’ racial justice organizing. GA, CO
Family Threatened by KKK $4796 for orthodontia, educational support and two CIF awards for the five kids, ages 13 to 22, whose guardian received death threats from the Klan for her efforts to desegregate a public housing complex. OR
Mother Continues Family Legacy of Activism $3150 for cultural and recreational programs for the four children, ages five to 17, whose mother (the daughter of a targeted activist) has worked for children's, women's and poor people's rights and against racism. She has been arrested, beaten, harassed and jailed for her activism. OR
Antopol Fund Family Forced to Move $3000 for cultural and educational programs for the two children, ages 15 and 18, whose family was targeted by local officials and had to relocate twice after their mother had prominent roles in several high-profile racial justice campaigns. CA
Civil Rights Organizer Serving 28 Years $3000 for sports fees, tutoring and an Attica Fund Prison Visit grant[3] for the daughters, ages 15 and 19, whose father was a leader of an organization committed to black and brown unity, and human and civil rights. He was convicted of racketeering and sentenced to decades in prison despite maintaining his innocence. NC
Anti-Police Brutality Activist Fired $2000 for school tuition for the two children, ages eight and 10, whose father organized for racial justice. After he appeared on the news protesting a case of police abuse, he was harassed and lost his job. GA
Father Jailed for Documenting Police Murder $1500 for childcare for the four-year-old son whose father is incarcerated on trumped up charges after filming and publicizing his footage of an officer killing an unarmed individual. NV
Mother Beaten, Pepper-Sprayed and Harassed $1000 for band expenses for the 16-year-old son whose mother, a community organizer for racial and economic justice, was targeted by police. GA

Antopol Fund Families Face Death Threats, Harassment $3000 for childcare and physical therapy for two sons, ages four and eight, from two families, both of whom have faced intimidation and violent threats for their work to protect the environment. Antopol Fund Mom Fought for Standing Rock $2400 for music lessons for two children, ages six and 12, whose parents have been charged a number of times for nonviolent demonstrating. Most recently, their mother was arrested protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline and the violence perpetrated against the water protectors. ME
Twice-Imprisoned Father $1600 for music lessons for the 15-year-old daughter whose dad served time for destroying traps set for mountain lions, and was re-incarcerated for accepting a Facebook friend request. MI

Mother Threatened with Loss of Son $3000 for equine therapy and school tuition for the nine and 18-year-old siblings whose mother was threatened by the state with the removal of her son because of her organizing on behalf of LGBTQ rights. OR
Mother Fights to End Torture $1940 for sports programs for the 13-year-old daughter whose mother advocated for women whose rights had been violated in her home country. She was detained and arrested before seeking refuge in the U.S. IL
Jailers Threaten to Burn Children $1080 for tutoring for the 18-year-old son of a refugee women’s rights activist who was tortured and warned that her children could be attacked. OK

Antopol Fund Children’s Home Razed $1600 for educational expenses and a CIF award for the 19-year-old son whose mother had her nation standing stripped and home destroyed because of her work against the Bureau of Indian Affairs-appointed leader of their nation. NY
Mother Forced to Flee Country $1200 for sports and cultural activities for the son, age nine, whose mom fled their home country after witnessing the assassination of a doctor. She supported his efforts for patients’ rights to health care; after the murder, soldiers killed the other witness and assaulted her. IL
Father Refuses to be Silenced $1000 for tennis lessons for the 17-year-old daughter whose father survived a year in a concentration camp. He testified against his captors despite receiving numerous death threats. IL

Family Forced to Relocate $2500 for gymnastics and music lessons for two sons, ages 14 and 16, whose mother was threatened with prison for trying to address the needs of low-income families. TX
Mother Organized After Hurricane $2000 for orthodontia for the son and daughter, ages 11 and 15, whose mother was a leader in the movement demanding the right for residents to return to their public housing units after Katrina. In retaliation, she was harassed and jailed on false assault charges. LA
Union Dad Imprisoned $1000 for an after-school sports program for the 13-year-old son whose father, a labor organizer and co-founder of an immigrants’ rights collective, was arrested on politically motivated charges. FL
PEACE
Parents Working Together for Peace $7250 for childcare, music lessons, sports programs, art and therapeutic supplies and a CIF award for eight children, ages five months to 20, from four families. The parents have participated in nonviolent direct-action. They have been arrested, jailed, fined and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for bringing children to a protest. Muslim Peace Activist Targeted $5600 for educational support, a CIF award and an Attica award for the six children, ages 11 to 24, whose father was convicted of terrorist-related money laundering after an FBI sting targeted him for his public anti-war activities and support for a local Mosque. NY
Antopol Fund Peace Activists Threatened and Jailed $4828 for martial arts, music lessons and two CIF awards for six children, ages nine to 23, from two families. The parents use non-violent protest to resist militarization and war. Some have been imprisoned for civil disobedience and others faced the threat of violence. VA, CA
Herman Warsh Memorial Fund Assistance for Children of Torture Survivors $3,500 for a group grant for therapeutic support for children whose parents survived torture in their home countries. The program serves 11 children, ages three to 18, from six families; at least one parent per family was a pro-democracy activist. IL
Antopol Fund Mother Gives Birth Behind Bars $1400 for extracurricular activities for four siblings, ages four to 13, whose war resister mother fled to Canada. After five years she was deported to the U.S. where she served eight months in the brig while pregnant. TX
Family’s Home Raided $1000 for tennis lessons for the daughter, age 12, whose father faced harassment after refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating peace and international solidarity activists. IL

Second Generation Activists Targeted $9400 for educational and therapeutic support for seven children, ages seven to 18, from two families whose fathers are the sons of political prisoners. They have been harassed and/or fired for their work on behalf of political prisoners. GA, PA
Antopol Fund Mother Harassed for Giving Prisoners A Voice $5100 for sports, educational support and a CIF award for the four siblings, ages 15 to 18, whose mother spoke out against the inhumane treatment of prisoners while incarcerated. She continues to organize despite experiencing significant physical and verbal harassment from prison guards and officials. AL
Antopol Fund Dad Punished for Anti-Prison Art $3092 for sports programs and an Attica award for the five and nine-year-old daughters who were harassed by guards while visiting their incarcerated father because he advocates for prison abolition. His views have resulted in his transfer away from his family and prolonged periods without access to visits, calls or canteen. CO
Mother Threatened for Helping Prisoners $3000 for cultural programs for the four and seven-year-old sons whose mother created an alternative program for inmates at a federal penitentiary. She was accused of conspiring with a political prisoner and threatened with prosecution. NY
Former Political Prisoner Faces Ongoing Harassment $2000 for educational support for the 10-year-old twins whose father was incarcerated for anti-apartheid efforts and continues to face ongoing targeting for his work to free political prisoners. MA
Antopol Fund Father Fought for the Incarcerated $1500 for educational and therapeutic support for the 20-year-old son whose father advocated for Native American prisoners’ rights. NM
