Rosenberg Mention of the Day: We're pleased to share Ellen Meeropol's publication for Lilith Magazine, a thoughtfully crafted reflection on two recently published books focused on Ethel Rosenberg.
Not quite a traditional book review (because as Meeropol puts it, as Ethel's daughter-in-law, "the subject is too personal"), the piece draws thoughtful comparisons between Anne Sebba's thoroughly-researched biography "Ethel Rosenberg: An American Tragedy" which adopts a feminist lens, and Francine Prose's fictionalized (perhaps, sensationalized) novel "The Vixen." Meeropol's experiences as a novelist, playwright, avid reader, and member of Ethel's family all influence her essay, making it a uniquely insightful read.
