Join us as the RFC hosts a book release event featuring co-editors Mumia Abu-Jamal (by audio) and Jennifer Black, scholar and author Joy James, featured contributor and Abolitionist Law Center Executive Director Robert Saleem Holbrook, and facilitation by RFC Executive Director Jenn Meeropol.
Beneath the Mountain, co-edited by award-winning journalist, political activist and author, Mumia Abu-Jamal, and Prison Radio’s Jennifer Black, is a guide for understanding the evolution of anti-prison tenets. These essential primary texts provide an arc of insurgent writings by dissidents and revolutionaries who experienced incarceration and state terror first-hand, with contributions from John Brown, Frederick Douglass, Crazy Horse, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X, Leonard Peltier, Angela Davis and Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.
