Thanks to extremely generous support from several foundations and RFC contributors, we are happy to announce that after a three year absence we are re-instituting the Gathering Program!

These popular events offer RFC beneficiaries an array of cultural workshops along with recreational and social activities which facilitate the formation of bonds between participants who have experienced similar situations as a result of their activist parents’ work for social justice. In August 2011 we will convene a Carry It Forward event for young people aged 18 to 24, and we hope to hold a Family Gathering in August 2012.

We are most grateful to the Fineshriber Family Foundation for their leadership grant, the Puffin Foundation for providing funds for the arts workshops, the Shana Alexander Foundation for assistance with staffing the Gathering, and four individuals whose generous support has allowed us to move forward with this summer’s program.
